The Pleasant Hill Road Sidewalk Installation Project No. 02-21 (Project) provided new sidewalks on the west side of Pleasant Hill Road between Pleasant View Drive and Cumberland Drive.
On October 4, 2021, City Council adopted Resolution No. 66-21, which awarded the construction contract to the low bidder, J.J.R. Construction, Inc., for $336,000.00 (including contingency). The approved FY 2020-2025 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) allocated funds for this Project (Project MK-3A) in order to eliminate the last remaining sidewalk gap along Pleasant Hill Road between Oak Park Boulevard and Gregory Lane, ultimately allowing students in the area to walk safely to/from Pleasant Hill Elementary School.
Project highlights include:
• Installed 675-ft. of new, 4’-6” wide concrete sidewalk adjacent to six residential properties;
• Installed five ADA-compliant curb ramps;
• Replaced 586 ft. concrete curb and gutter
• Installed 90 ft. concrete curb and gutter;
• Installed concrete and asphalt concrete tie-ins to five residential driveways; and
• Replaced traffic signs and striping including three pedestrian crosswalks.
