The County Elections Division has posted the final results for the recent elections held in Pleasant Hill for City Council and the local ballot Measure K. The final tallies are as follows:
MATTHEW RINN 21.03% (6,214 votes)
KEN CARLSON 31.05% (9,173 votes)
JONATHON S. FEIT 13.05% (3,857 votes)
TIM FLAHERTY 34.27% (10,124)
WRITE-IN 0.6% (178)
There were three seats on the City Council being contested. Incumbents, Ken Carlson and Tim Flaherty were re-elected along with Matthew Rinn. All three will take their seats on the new City Council on December 19th.
City Treasure, Mark Celio, who ran unopposed, received 9,340 or 98.69% of votes cast

Measure K needed a simple majority to pass and thus the measure was successful. The half cent sales tax increase will take effect in Pleasant Hill on April 1, 2017. The sales tax rate in Pleasant Hill will go from 8.25% to 8.75% on that date.
