The County Elections Division has posted the final results for the recent elections held in Pleasant Hill for City Council and the local ballot Measure K. The final tallies are as follows:
MATTHEW RINN 21.03% (6,214 votes)
KEN CARLSON 31.05% (9,173 votes)
JONATHON S. FEIT 13.05% (3,857 votes)
TIM FLAHERTY 34.27% (10,124)
WRITE-IN 0.6% (178)
There were three seats on the City Council being contested. Incumbents, Ken Carlson and Tim Flaherty were re-elected along with Matthew Rinn. All three will take their seats on the new City Council on December 19th.
City Treasurer, Mark Celio, who ran unopposed, received 9,340 or 98.69% of votes cast

Measure K needed a simple majority to pass and thus the measure was successful. The half cent sales tax increase will take effect in Pleasant Hill on April 1, 2017. The sales tax rate in Pleasant Hill will go from 8.25% to 8.75% on that date. Some other interesting points to note:
- Countywide, the number of voters who used the Vote-N-Go drop-off boxes at City Halls and some libraries went from 8,550 in June to 53,620 this election
- In Pleasant Hill, 3,995 people turned in vote-by-mail and early voting ballots at City Hall (out of the 53,620 Countywide Vote-N-Go ballots turned in)
- Overall, Pleasant Hill had an 81.56% voter turnout
- The City Council will certify the election results and select a new Mayor and Vice Mayor at its December 19th meeting
