The City of Pleasant Hill City Council will hold a public hearing to consider a proposed zoning ordinance amendments related to wireless telecommunciations facilities.  The proposed ordinance amendment related to wireless telecommunications facilities is intended to ensure compliance with recent changes made to State and Federal laws, particularly ensuring consistency with Section 6409(a) of the Middle Class Tax Relief and Jobs Creation Act adopted in 2012 by the United States Congress and with the subsequent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) implementing regulations of 2015.  This legislation requires local agencies to administratively approve (with any applicable conditions of approval) minor modifications to existing “eligible” wireless communications facilities that would not “substantially change” the original project within specific processing timelines.  In addition, the proposed ordinance amendment clarifies lapse of approval or expiration of zoning permits, particularly in light of the proposed ordinance amendment. The City Council meeting will be held on January 23, 2017 at 7:30P.M., at the City of Pleasant Hill City Council Chambers. The public notice for the meeting can be viewed HERE.
