The City Council recently approved new public noticing for City meetings, events and other important matters of community interest. The new procedures will result in more streamlined and efficient notification, particularly for public meetings of the City Council, Planning Commission, and other City commissions and committees.

In addition to the legally required noticing procedures (by the State of California), some of the key changes to the public noticing process will include:

• Installation of an electronic display board in front of the flagpoles at City Hall. This programmable reader board will provide information on meetings, events, alerts and other important messages.
• Expanded use of social media – staff will post important notices to Nextdoor, Facebook, and Twitter.
• Website and Interactive Planning Map posts – staff will continue to improve the use of the City’s website (www.pleasanthillca.org) for news and announcements, and post updated project information to the ‘Interactive Planning Map’ (www.pleasanthillca.org/map) on the homepage. This map shows all of the major development projects throughout the city.
• Continued use of the ‘A-Frame Signs’ at key locations in the city including the Police Department and Pleasant Hill Library for notification on major projects or issues affecting the entire city.
• Notification to all senior living facilities and the Senior Center about major projects that might impact particular neighborhoods or the entire city.
