[ARCHIVED] Fourth of July Festivities & other events next week in Pleasant Hill

Here is a summary of the many concerts and festivities in Pleasant Hill from July 3rd through July 8th:

Music at the Farmers’ Market

The Tuesday evening Farmers’ Market on Trelany Road continues on July 3rd from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. Music is by the Indecision Band from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In addition to the many producers, the market also has hot food booths, baked goods, beer & wine booth and artisan vendors.

Fourth of July Celebration & Holiday

City offices will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th in observance of the Independence Day Holiday. Here is the schedule of events for all of the festivities on the Fourth of July:

6:30 am – Registration opens for the Firecracker 5K Fun Run by the Clock Tower on Crescent Drive

7:50 am – 100 yard dash for kids 7 and under

8:00 am – Firecracker 5K Fun Run (Starts by the corner of Gregory Lane and Trelany Road, in front of City Hall. (See Route Map and Registration information at http://phjuly4.com/5k-run-route/). The net proceeds of the run are donated to the Pleasant Hill school of the runner’s choice.

Sections of the course will include Contra Costa Blvd, Cleaveland Road, Woodsworth Lane, Boyd Road, Gregory Lane, Trelany Rd, and Crescent Dr. Roadways in these areas will be closed from approximately 7am to 11am. Please expect delays and plan your route accordingly.

9:30 am – Parade begins (SEE PARADE ROUTE MAP at http://phjuly4.com/parade-route/)

The 2018 Parade Grand Marshal is Ryan Joseph, a College Park High School student who suffered a traumatic wrestling injury in 2017. Because of the wonderful community response to assisting Ryan and his family after his injury, the theme of the 2018 Pleasant Hill 4th of July is “Pleasant Hill – A Community United”. Participants in the parade are encouraged to incorporate this theme into their entry.

10:30 am – 1:30 pm Party in the Park at Pleasant Hill Park

6:30 pm – Gates open at College Park High School

The site of the Fireworks show will again be College Park High School.
7:15 pm -This year local band The Ripplers will be playing prior to the start of the fireworks show.
9:20 pm PyroSpectacular fireworks show begins!

Downtown Plaza Concert
The Summer Concert Series in the Plaza (next to Jack’s Restaurant) continues next Thursday, July 5th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Music is by Fleetwood Mask.

Sunset by the Lake Summer Concert Series

The 4th Summer Concert at City Hall is on Sunday, July 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the band, East Bay Mudd - a popular favorite which many locals. Food is provided by Copper Skillet and beer & wine by the Guzzler.
