Draft Environmental Impact Report for Oak Park Properties Specific Plan released
Plans to build a new library building, park and homes on 15 acres on Oak Park Boulevard reached a milestone August 30 with the release of the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Oak Park Properties Specific Plan.
Copies of the Draft EIR are available for review at Pleasant Hill City Hall (100 Gregory Lane), the Pleasant Hill Library (1750 Oak Park Boulevard), and the Contra Costa County Department of Conservation and Development (30 Muir Road, Martinez).
The Oak Park Properties Specific Plan comprises two projects, a Civic Project at 1700 Oak Park Boulevard, and a Residential Project at 1750 Oak Park Boulevard.
The Civic Project includes construction of a new library building, a park with athletic fields, and improvements to the Grayson Creek corridor. In addition, the Civic Project includes significant improvement to Monticello Avenue and Oak Park Boulevard.
Construction of the new library building, and infrastructure improvements are anticipated to begin as early as April 2020 and finish in the fall of 2021. Construction of the athletic fields is anticipated to start in fall 2020 and finish in the fall of 2021.
The Residential Project at 1750 Oak Park Boulevard includes demolition of the existing County-owned library building and vacant administrative offices, and construction of 34 single-family homes, 7 accessory dwelling units, and a new pocket park.
Construction of the Residential Project could start as early as June 2020 and finish the summer of 2022.
The 45-day public review period for the Draft EIR runs until 5:00 p.m. October 15, 2019. Comments must be submitted in writing to the City of Pleasant Hill’s Planning Division, 100 Gregory Lane, or by email to tfujimoto@pleasanthillca.org.
