Information for the Pleasant Hill Community


City Council and Commission meetings will continue, as they are unlikely to involve more than 50 people.

Mt. Diablo School District Schools to close - Letter from Superintendent Robert Martinez states "I have decided to formally close schools starting on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Please note that Monday is a scheduled Professional Development Day for teachers, with no students present. More specifics will follow this afternoon regarding the parameters of the closure, and plans to maintain some services for students during the formal closure to schools.  We are working directly with any school sites where we have any new information that may prompt any immediate need to close school today, and will everyone with additional information as it is available."

Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District is cancelling all District events with 50 or more participants through March 29. The following events are impacted: Battle of the Bands; Teen Job Fair; Senior events including Bingo, Tea Dances, Chef’s Luncheons, Friday Flik and the Senior day trip to Pulgas Water Temple and Filoli Estates.  News release from PH Recreation & Park District  

Senior Center programs: Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District is cancelling all senior programs at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center through March 31 in response to the social distancing recommendations issued by Contra Costa Health Services to prevent the spread of COVID-19. For more information, read the Rec & Park press release or call the Rec and Park Senior Center staff at 925-798-8788 or the District’s customer service team at 925-682-0896.

Library programs: The Contra Costa County Library (which includes the Pleasant Hill branch) has cancelled all library programs and events, including community use of meeting rooms in County-owned facilities, through March 31. Additionally, the Library will be working with our partners to determine plans for city-operated community rooms. The libraries remain open for regularly scheduled hours.
