Join us on September 24, 2022, for the annual Community Service Day.  First started in 2005, Community Service Day is an opportunity for residents of Pleasant Hill to come together in service to the City.  Starting at 8:00 a.m, volunteers will meet at Pleasant Hill Park, 147 Gregory Lane, for a breakfast provided by the Lions Club. Afterwards they will go to their various project sites and the event will go from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  

This year, volunteers will be working on 16 different projects.  The projects include: 

Backpacks for the Homeless - collecting toiletries and other necessary items to be delivered to the unhoused in Contra Costa County
Pleasant Hill Food Drive - bring non-perishable foods to our two locations, Pleasant Hill Park and Grocery Outlet to help the Contra Costa/Solano Food Bank
Facial Tissue Collection Drive - bring facial tissue products to Pleasant Hill Park to help support our Pleasant Hill Schools
College Park High School campus cleanup
Pleasant Hill Instructional Garden - help maintain and spruce up the water conservation garden
Dinosaur Hill Park Cleanup
Shadowood Park Cleanup
Sequoia Elementary Campus Cleanup
Strandwood Elementary Campus Cleanup
White Pony Express - help clean and assemble boxes for delivery to the needy
Valhalla Elementary School - help with the Edible garden and campus cleanup
Pleasant Hill Elementary School Campus Cleanup
Gregory Gardens Elementary School Campus Cleanup
Bike Build-A-Thon - donate bicycles to be cleaned up and refurbished for distribution to needy families
Pleasant Hill Middle School Campus Cleanup
Choice in Aging - help with yard cleanup at the Senior facility at 490 Golf Club Rd
