This year on Community Service Day, Sept 24, , the Pleasant Hill Community will have the opportunity to help out in a variety of ways. Three separate collections are being held as part of this year's event, all with drop-offs at Pleasant Hill Park, 147 Gregory Lane. The collections are:Backpacks for the Homeless: The Diversity Commission is collecting the following items to be put into backpacks and distributed to the members of the City's unhoused population.
Facial Tissues for Area Schools: The Education Commission is holding a collection drive for facial tissue products (any brand). Sealed boxes or individual packets of facial tissues can be dropped off during the event. The commission will divide them up and deliver them to the City's schools.
Citywide Food Drive: As we have the past few years, the City will hold a food drive as part of Community Service Day. Food can be dropped off either at Pleasant Hill Park, 147 Gregory Lane or at Grocery Outlet, 1671 Contra Costa Boulevard. At Grocery Outlet you can help our Pleasant Hill Police Department 'Stuff the Cruiser.' Food items needed include:
