The Pleasant Hill Community is invited to provide input at the next planning session regarding the City's proposed transition to district-based elections.
Following action taken by the City Council at its March 6, 2023 meeting, the City of Pleasant Hill will began the public hearing process for moving to by-district elections for City Council seats on March 20, 2023. The next meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on April 3, 2023.
Following the first two public hearings, the City will have a demographer prepare an electoral division map, which will then be published. Once the map is published, the City anticipates holding two more public hearings to discuss and garner feedback on the map.
The City Council would then conduct a final public meeting and will take steps to adopt an Ordinance transitioning the City from an at-large to by-district method of electing Members of the City Council, approving the establishment of electoral division map boundaries, and approving the sequence of future Council elections.
All public hearings will be conducted in the City Council Chamber, located at 100 Gregory Lane, Pleasant Hill, California, 94523. Agendas will be posted a minimum of 72 hours in advance of the meetings in compliance with the Ralph M. Brown Act and can be viewed at www.pleasanthillca.org/agendas. Interested parties may subscribe to receive agenda notices at www.pleasanthillca.org/NotifyMe.
